About The Space

Located in the historic Elizabeth Peabody House on Broadway in Winter Hill, Somerville, this space is a quirky, spacious black box theatre. The performance space is a converted church sanctuary with a  30-50 seat capacity
and very flexible staging opportunities.

The theatre is available for rental to artists, production companies, and other organizations. The space is ideal for musical and theatrical performances, as well as classes, workshops, fundraising events, and other functions.

Rental Fees


Short Term
$80 per 3 hour rehearsal period.
This is usually between the hours of  7PM and 10PM
Other times may be scheduled subject to availability.
 

Full Day
$300 per day (12 hour period) for performances.
Strike is the responsibility of the client


Long Term
$800 per month
A commitment of at least three months is usually required

During long term rentals others may be sharing the space on a short term basis as well
Weekdays, apart from Tech Week, the space is occupied by our Youth Theatre  classes.

General Information-House Rules
  • Clients must have their own insurance to cover damages and injuries.
  • No applicants will be accepted without proof of insurance. **
  • The Elizabeth Peabody House will take no responsibility for any equipment, properties, costumes, etc. which is brought in to the space by the client.
  • The space must be left as it was when the client entered the building.
  • Smoking is prohibitted on the premises
  • The client is responsible for all equipment, properties, costumes, etc., that the client has brought in to the building, and remove said items when the contracted time is over.
  • The Elizabeth Peabody House requires a non-refundable security deposit of 50% up front, and final payment is due before the client's project  is done.
  • Checks should be made out to:  The Elizabeth Peabody House Association
